ENG 311 – THE ART AND CRAFT OF WRITING: ADVANCED EXPOSITORY

This course focuses on the practice of writing lively, research-informed essays. The term essay here refers to works of composition employing stylistic devices from multiple genres of writing in order to develop a point of view aesthetically and intellectually. The course builds on and refines skills from introductory writing courses. It provides advanced practice in the craft of the essay and
develops skills in finding and effectively incorporating research into writing for use in a range of future writing contexts.

Pre-requisites: ENG 202 or permission of the instructor.

This course satisfies the information literacy requirement.
