Biography

Prof. Conti’s research focuses mostly on emigration/immigration/asylum; sport; integration and human rights in a comparative, international perspective.
 
Prof. Conti is currently working on two research projects: the first one, in collaboration with CSER, Centro Studi Migrazione, aims to identify and to exchange good practices of migrants’ integration across Italy. The second one, sponsored by the Istituto San Pio V, aims to critically assess human rights in both theory and practice.
 
Previously, prof. Conti participated in a research project coordinated by Prof. Simonetta Bisi of La Sapienza University on forced migration in Italy, to be published in 2014, in a book entitled “Quasi Umani, I migrantiforzati in Italia” edited by Bourdeaux and sponsored by the research Institute San Pio V.
 
Prof. Conti is also interested in the emerging field of sport and migration, she published two articles assessing the changing role of migration in European sports and she has examined second generation elite athletes experiences as national icons in Italy in a recent book coordinated by Prof. Simonetta Bisi of La Sapienza University, entitled “Non solo Balotelli, le seconde Generazioni in Italy, edited by Bourdeaux and sponsored by the research institute San Pio V.
