INTERNATIONAL ENTRY TO ITALY – FROM THE ITALIAN GOVERNMENT DECREE OF MAY 1, 2022

The current entry regulations will expire on May 31, 2022.

If you arrive from any foreign country, including the US, Canada, Australia, the U.K., and E.U. states, you must present one of the following COVID certifications:

  • completion of the primary COVID vaccination series within the last 9 months; OR

  • a COVID booster; OR

  • recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection and corresponding letter of recovery (valid for 180 days from the original positive swab test); OR

  • a rapid antigen or molecular swab test, taken within 48 or 72 hours, respectively, before entry into Italy.

Travelers without the above documentation are required to undergo a 5-day fiduciary quarantine, followed by a negative Covid-19 test.

Effective May 1, 2022, the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) is no longer required.

COVID-19 SAFETY RULES AT AUR

Until June 15, 2022, the use of masks is required in all indoor areas of AUR.

If I fall ill with Covid-19 or am forced to quarantine, what are the emergency opt-out protocols for summer 2022?

We continue to use a Covid-19 emergency opt-out system for symptomatic and positive students. In such situations, students are reminded to stay home and complete the online “Covid-19 Opt-Out” form (on MyAUR). This option requires that the student contact our Medinaction doctor (or a base doctor) immediately for health guidance and first recommendations on how long to stay home.

This system will remain in use for this summer semester

Upon submission, the form automatically alerts the student’s professors, the Office of Student Life, and the Dean’s Office. Student Life follows up with the student, and the AUR doctor updates us on outcomes and actions.

This policy allows symptomatic and positive students to participate in courses remotely for 1 day. The doctor’s report will include recommendations regarding the length of remote lessons after the 1-day initial period. Only once the doctor has given the student the all-clear, they will be able to return to the classroom.

Students may only use the Covid-19 emergency opt-out for real Covid-related illnesses. Students cannot use it for any other reason. Students already have a prescribed number of absences; these should be used for absences that are non-Covid related.)
