AH 104 – SAINTS AND SINNERS IN ROME

The saints will be treated as both historical as well as religious figures within the context of the history of art. The course will explore the complex relationship between Classical iconography and Christian hagiography and mark how the images of saints change in response to both theological and political needs.

The course will be divided between classroom lectures and seminars and on-site visits.

This course satisfies the oral presentation requirement.

Students are responsible for all entry fees.
