Arianna D'Amico

Director of Admissions and Financial Aid

Arianna grew up in a bicultural family in Acton Massachusetts, USA. She spent her summers in Sicily and eventually moved to Rome in 2000. She earned her B.A. degree at The American University of Rome in 2002 and her MA degree at St. John’s University in 2007.  She has been working in admissions at AUR since 2008.

“I love travelling and working in Higher Education! I am so blessed to have received an international education and now be able to share my experiences with students and encourage them to study abroad.”

Arianna also enjoys practicing yoga, cuddling with her cat Gwen, eating large quantities of food, dabbling in astrophysics, and of course spending time with her friends.

Jessica York

Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Jessica grew up in a bilingual family in Munich, Germany before graduating from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. After further study at the University of Bologna, she knew Italy was the place she wanted to live. It took a while; Jessica taught modern foreign languages at international schools in England and Thailand and later worked as a university counselor in Germany. However, since all roads lead to Rome, she is finally living where she always wanted to live with her Italian (what else?) husband and two kids.

Andrea Ricci

International Admissions Counselor

Andrea was born in Rome. After completing a BSc in Economics at Tor Vergata University in Rome, he moved to the UK where he got a MA in Marketing Management from Middlesex University in London. Andrea joined AUR in 2017 as an International Admissions Counselor, where he is responsible for the recruitment in EU and MENA regions.
 
Prior to joining the American University of Rome, Andrea worked as a Student Recruitment Manager in the UK Higher Education sector, collaborating with top UK universities to improve communication and increase engagement and conversion rates.

Andrea's background is also characterized by professional experience in a leading Australian education agency, which completed his international profile in the field. He is passionate about travelling and discovering new cultures. After living in different countries (including the UK, Belgium and Australia) Andrea decided to relocate to Rome and join AUR: He is proud to represent a leading American education provider in his home town!

Yesenia Serna

Undergraduate Admissions Counselor

Born in Los Angeles, Yesenia attended a community college before transferring to The American University of Rome. At AUR she was part of the Volunteer Club and loved both cooking and trying new foods.

Yesenia graduated in December 2016, with a Bachelor in Italian Studies. She worked as a student assistant for Admissions and then was hired as an Operational Support Officer before becoming Undergraduate Admissions Counselor.

William Abraham

International Admissions Counselor

A Chicago native, William received his Bachelor of Arts in Art History with minors in International Business and Marketing from Loyola University Chicago. He previously worked both in the United States and Italy for art galleries, museums, and an educational non-governmental organization before joining The American University of Rome.
 
As an International Admissions Counselor, William assists students from the United States in applying to AUR. He has traveled to over 30 different countries across four continents. In his free time, William likes to cook, travel, and read classics.

Kirsty Young

Undergraduate Admissions Counselor

Kirsty was born in Northumberland, UK, and studied English at Kingston University London before completing a CELTA qualification in Newcastle and moving to Rome in 2015 to teach English as a foreign language. She joined the AUR team in September 2017 and currently holds the position of Undergraduate Admissions Counselor.

Kirty's career has been driven by the fact that she is fascinated by different languages and cultures, as well as her passion for sampling many different cuisines!
