A CHANGING WORLD ECONOMY.
A THREE-PLAYER GAME: THE UNITED STATES, CHINA, AND THE EU.
presented by Professor Paolo Guerrieri (PSIA, Sciences Po, Paris).

The future of the world's economy is extremely uncertain today, marked by changes in the balance of power at the global level. Among the most noteworthy dynamics are the rise of China and the growing social and economic inequalities. The pandemic shock has further accentuated difficulties and instability. What kind of international economic scenarios could be foreseen in the post-Covid world? What role could be envisaged for the US? Is China’s economic rise a threat? Could the EU find its strategic autonomy in this changing structure?

Professor Paolo Guerrieri (Science Po, Paris), who just published a book on the topic, will be the Special Guest of three Seminars for the International Relations and Global Politics Program during Fall 2021. Each Seminar (September 22; October 13; November 10 at 7:00PM in the AUR Auditorium) will focus on the role of one of these global actors.
