The Center for Food Studies is pleased to host Dr. Regina Green, Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing, Widener University, as Visiting Research Scholar for the month of July 2025.
Dr Green will be conducting research on “Cultural Lifestyle, Food, and Mental Health: A Cross-Cultural Study of Well-being in Italy and the United States”.
With a career spanning both academic and therapeutic settings, Dr Greem specializes in mental health and wellness across diverse populations, with a particular interest in how culture shapes psychological outcomes.
Her current work is inspired by research that suggests lifestyle factors - such as diet, social interaction, and daily routines - play a significant role in mental health. The goal of her research is to explore how core elements of Italian lifestyle—specifically culinary traditions, community-centered values, shared meals, food preparation and traditional eating practices - impact mental health, and how these outcomes differ from those commonly seen in the United States.
