The debate
With the emergence of populist parties in various European countries (Italy, Germany, UK, Spain, Hungary, Poland), what will be the future of democratic leadership and political party organization? How important are social media and digital platforms in the organization of democratic movements and what is their impact on elections?
On the official (possibly) day of the Brexit, March 29, as part of the Masterclass by José van Dijck on 'Social Media and Political Governance: Rome, Italy, Europe', this panel discussion explores potential venues for Europe and its member states in the face of a new geopolitical order.
