Professor Valerie Higgins was recently invited to speak on the podcast 'Cornucopia: Treasures beyond the Grand Tour', a series produced by James Hill in collaboration with loveitaly. James Hill is a cultural travel specialist and lecturer, and loveitaly is an NGO dedicated to crowdfunding for heritage projects.

This podcast invites listeners to 'explore Italy's abundance of riches from your armchair', focusing each week on a different gem in Italy's endless treasure trove of unique places of interest. Expert guest speakers discuss with Hill the 'art, architecture and landscapes that lie beyond the headline attractions and blockbuster monuments'. In this episode, Professor Higgins talks about the Umbrian hilltop town of Amelia.

This historic hilltown was the focus of a community heritage project conducted by students of the MA in Sustainable Cultural Heriage last fall, which culminated in an exhibition showcasing its unique tanglible and intagible culture.
