The International Relations and Global Politics program is pleased to present this lecture, 'The Political Economy of the European Union'. Prof. Paolo Guerrieri (College of Europe, Bruges and Sciences Po, Paris) will give a lecture on the power and role of the European Union at the world level, as well as the challenges the Union is facing as a result of the longstanding economic crisis in many of its member countries and the political crisis epitomized by Brexit.
Paolo Guerrieri
Senator of the Italian Republic and member of the Economic Budget Committee and the European Policy Committee at the Italian Senate.
He is Professor of Economics at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, Visiting Professor at the University of San Diego and Professor at the College of Europe.
He has acted as consultant to European and international institutions and organisations such as the European Commission, the OECD and the World Bank.
Scientific Director of "The Journal of European Economic History” and "Economia Italiana".
He studied at the Universities of Oxford and Harvard.
He is the author of several books and articles on international trade and policy, technological change, international political economy, industrial patterns, European integration issues.
