The M.A. Peace Studies Guest Lecture Series welcomed Cigdem Oguz to speak about 'The Woman Question in Turkey: From Past to Today'
On Thursday, February 27th, the Peace Studies program hosted Dr. Cigdem Oguz from the University of Naples Federico II. Peace Studies Program Director Alessandro Mulieri and Political Islam professor Shirin Zakeri collaborated with Dr. Oguz to engage the Peace Studies cohort with a series of two lectures focusing on the history of the Ottoman Empire and women in Turkey. Being an expert in Turkish studies, Dr. Oguz led insightful lectures that provided historical perspectives and an analysis of modern feminist movements in Turkey.
