HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
There are, of course, many reasons to love Thanksgiving, but we especially love it because so many of our extended AUR community are either in Rome or able to seize the opportunity to come and visit. For Thanksgiving this year, we are arranging an AUR community Thanksgiving Dinner in Trastevere, just down the hill from the main campus.

The venue
Villa Sospisio is in the heart of Rome but immersed in lush green gardens. The house is part of the history of this city, a unique place that in its heyday has hosted guests from Francis Ford Coppola to Michele Placido, Mel Gibson, and Dante Ferretti. The entrance, at n.22 Via San Francesco di Sales, is a small, discreet wooden front door, behind which is hidden a beautiful garden filled with Ficus Benjamin trees that leads to this outstanding 16th-century villa.
The evening
Arriving at 7:00 pm with your friends, you will be greeted by a light aperitivo which, weather permitting, will be taken in the garden. A pianist will play the grand piano as you relax and take in your unique surroundings. A traditional Thanksgiving dinner (with an occasional Italian 'twist') will be served at 8:00 pm. After dinner, you are welcome to relax and continue the evening at the villa, or you can explore the medieval Trastevere neighborhood.
Your part
Attendance at our Thanksgiving dinner is limited. But it's Thanksgiving, and we'd like to take this opportunity to extend goodwill across the whole community. Thus, we ask faculty, staff, students, and alumni for a minimum donation of just 20 euros per seat at dinner while, if you would like to bring guests who are not directly part of the community, we ask for a donation of 45 euros per seat.
