This May, emerging filmmakers from The American University of Rome invite the public to experience their final Capstone films - an ambitious and diverse showcase of storytelling, craft, and creative risk-taking, presented in one of the city’s most iconic cinema spaces.
Taking place on 11 and 12 May at The Space Cinema Moderno (Piazza della Repubblica), the screenings offer a rare opportunity to see original student films on a professional screen, in a setting designed for cinema at its most immersive.

Across the two evenings, audiences will encounter a striking range of genres and voices - from psychological thrillers and experimental comedy to documentary and romance - each film reflecting months of intensive work and personal vision.
What emerges is not simply a collection of films, but a snapshot of a creative community in motion - students testing ideas, pushing boundaries, and finding their voices in a global city that has long inspired artists.
For audiences, it is an invitation to engage with new perspectives and to support the next generation of storytellers at a pivotal moment in their careers. For the filmmakers, it is the culmination of their studies - shared, fittingly, on the big screen.
