Lawrence Cohen is a sports business executive, attorney, entrepreneur, and educator with nearly four decades of experience spanning professional sports, venue management, sponsorship, ticketing, and sports marketing.
Throughout his career, Lawrence has held senior leadership positions with several prominent sports organizations, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Angels, Tickets.com, and Global Spectrum. His responsibilities have ranged from revenue generation, ticketing, sponsorship, and business operations to strategic planning, client acquisition, and technology deployment. As Vice President of Sales for the Philadelphia 76ers, he oversaw all aspects of ticket sales, while prior executive roles with the Anaheim Ducks and Angels provided broad experience in revenue generation, professional sports operations, marketing, broadcasting, and facility management.
Lawrence is also the founder and president of Beyond the Arc Sports, a consulting firm that develops and executes sports marketing initiatives for clients seeking to leverage the power of sports to achieve business objectives. In addition, he serves as Principal of iconTMC Philly, overseeing the redevelopment and commercialization of Philadelphia's iconic Phillies Theme Tower.
An attorney by training, Lawrence has practiced antitrust and complex class action law, including serving as an attorney on the team representing the plaintiffs in the O’Bannon vs. NCAA lawsuit, and brings a unique legal perspective to the business of sports. He has also been a dedicated educator, serving for more than fourteen years as an Associate Clinical Professor of Sport Management at Drexel University, where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses on sponsorship, ticket sales, sports law, facility management, sports contracts, labor relations, corporate social responsibility in sports, and sports gambling.
