Our mission is to complement and support the academic experience of the diverse community of our students by providing housing that is affordable, safe, and conveniently located. The apartments are in traditional, well-established neighborhoods.  This housing is well suited for students looking for a "full immersion" cultural experience.

How to gain access to the online Housing Form

Accept your offer of admission by submitting the Enrollment Confirmation Form and your Enrollment Deposit through your MyAUR student portal.  
Upon receipt of an e-mail from The American University of Rome’s Finance Office confirming receipt of payment, log in to MyAUR to complete your online housing forms located in your Deposited Student tab.

Application and Payment Deadlines:

  • Fall semester: June 30th
  • Spring semester: November 12th

Housing Refund Policy

  • During the month after the housing deadline: 100% refund
  • Between 30 days from housing deadline and 15 days prior to class start day:  50% refund
  • Last 14 days prior to class start day: None

HOUSING FAQ’s

  • Is AUR Housing mandatory?
    No, AUR Housing is optional.  Students may elect for The American University of Rome to arrange housing on their behalf, or they may choose to make their own housing arrangements.
     
  • Where are the apartments located?
    The apartments are located in traditional, well-established neighborhoods surrounding the university campus. Some are walking distance and others are 15-35 mins by public transport.  This housing is well suited for students looking for a "full immersion" cultural experience. 
     
  • What is included in the apartments?
    Apartments include:
    · a single bed in a shared room
    · basic furnishings and supplies
    · bed linens and towels
    · typical basic Italian cookware and kitchenware
    · a washing machine
    · weekly general cleaning 
    · utility charges
    · maintenance assistance
    · shared desktop computer and WiFi
     
  • How many flatmates will I have?
    You'll have 4-5 flatmates and share a room with one other person.  Apartments have 2-3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. They are non-smoking environments, and most are same-sex, but you can express interest in gender-inclusive housing. Housing assignments will be emailed a couple of weeks prior to your arrival.
