The American University of Rome's Alumni Lecture Series continued its Spring session with a compelling dialogue led by two AUR alumni deeply engaged in the humanitarian sector. On February 20, 2024, the AUR community gathered in a packed auditorium to glean insights from Madelaine Kuns ('07), the International Director of Communications & Fundraising, and Daniela Alba (MA'23), Fundraising Coordinator, both representing the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS).

The session offered an in-depth look into the JRS's dedicated efforts to address the burgeoning crisis of global forced displacement. Kuns and Alba illuminated the strategies, aspirations, and guiding principles driving JRS's interventions amidst complex geopolitical landscapes. They highlighted the organization's nuanced understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and forcibly displaced individuals and the critical interventions the JRS undertakes to alleviate such hardships.

The university extends its deepest appreciation to Madelaine Kuns and Daniela Alba for their thought-provoking presentation and to all attendees for their active engagement in a discourse that stands at the core of AUR's commitment to global societal issues.
