The AUR Wolves men’s basketball team showed resilience and determination despite falling 54–39 to Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in a challenging road contest last week.
After a difficult opening half, the Wolves responded with renewed energy in the fourth quarter, mounting a late comeback effort that significantly reduced the deficit and kept the game competitive deep into the final minutes.
AUR opened the game with intensity, exchanging early leads with Cattolica in a closely contested first quarter. Peter Bolin scored the Wolves’ opening points, while Travis Finley added a fast-break basket to briefly give AUR a 6–5 advantage. However, foul trouble and defensive pressure disrupted the Wolves’ rhythm, allowing Cattolica to close the quarter ahead 13–7 before gradually extending the lead in the second period.
Despite offensive struggles through much of the game, the Wolves continued to compete with determination. Gabriele Liberati connected on several important three-pointers during the closing stages, while Finley added key baskets as AUR pushed to narrow the gap in the fourth quarter.
Although Cattolica ultimately secured the victory late on, the Wolves’ persistence and defensive effort reflected a team continuing to fight through adversity as it prepares for crucial upcoming matchups against Unicamillus and Link Erasmus in the low-table round robin phase.
