Bronwyn Sweeney, a 2007 AUR graduate, is now a successful copywriter turned creative director working for MullenLowe, London.

MullenLowe describe themselves as "a creatively driven integrated marketing communications network with a strong entrepreneurial heritage and challenger mentality. We use creativity to get our clients’ brands an unfair share of attention." Bronwyn epitomizes the drive and creativity of the agency and loves her job and industry - but she was keen to correct some common misconceptions about what she does; 'good advertising,' as she put it, 'is not about making customers buy products they don't need, it's about helping those consumers make informed decisions while feeling good about their investment.'

Bronwyn went on to give a detailed and engaging breakdown of the advertising/copywriting process - much of which had the audience laughing along (when she's not working on creative marketing projects you'll find her performing on the stand-up comedy circuit around London - Bronwyn was recently runner-up in the 'Funniest Woman in the UK' competition!).

Students also found the various pieces of life advice that Bronwyn shared at the end of the presentation very valuable, especially her exhortation to be optimistic regarding life after graduation. According to Bronwyn, there are plenty of jobs out there, we can’t even begin to imagine what some of them are until we get out there, and for sure there will be a job that each of us will love.

Overall, it was a very thought-provoking and engaging presentation that was inclusive and entertaining at the same time. We appreciate the time and knowledge Bronwyn imparted to the AUR community and hope to see her again soon.
