The end result? Students can pick up their plans to study internationally at the end of the program with an advanced understanding and familiarity with Academic English and alongside they will have earned up to 15 credits that they can transfer to their university of choice.
Alternatively, of course, students could continue with their undergraduate studies at The Amerian University of Rome alongside the friends they have made and the relationships they have built with our amazing faculty.
AUR has transfer agreements in place with a number of prestigious US universities who have agreed that completion of the Jumpstart Advanced certification would fulfil the entry standards for that institution. For those students who wish to undertake their degree with a mainland US institution, Jumpstart Intermediate will provide the potential for accelerated entry alongside a number of transferable credits.
Jumpstart Advanced has been designed for students with upper-intermediate English proficiency who want to concentrate on polishing their language & writing skills but who have the capacity to take on other undergraduate learning at the same time. The English element of the first semester will concentrate on fine-tuning the student's academic English through ENG 101 Writing Fundamentals, but students will also take on one other 100-Level course at the same time. In the second semester, students will undertake ENG 102 Writing from Research. The will also have the choice to take either one 100-Level and one 200-Level courses, or two 100-Level courses.
Jumpstart Advanced gives students the chance to become part of AUR's international student community without the pressure of immediate full-time undergraduate study; they receive the same individualized attention, in small classes, with instruction by highly-qualified professors but the program is paced to suit students who require dedicated time and concentration on their English language skills.
Additionally, General Education and Free Elective classes may be taken alongside the program. Credits earned in this period will count towards the student's final degree - be that with The American University of Rome or with another international university.

Fall 2020: ENG 101 Writing Fundamentals plus one 100-Level course (2 x 3 Credits for a total of 6 Credits)
Spring 2021: ENG 102 Writing from Research (3 Credit course)
plus Two 100-Level undergraduate courses or one 100-Level and one 200-Level course (2 x 3 Credits for a total of 6 Credits)
Total to undertake Jumpstart Advanced with 15 credits: €10,500
The 15 credits earned will count towards a Bachelor degree at The American University of Rome or can be transfered to another US or international university.
