Graduate tuition and associated expenses for 2025-2026

Program Tuition (full time, 3 semesters): 27,400 US Dollars
The tuition fee covers attempted credits required for each respective M.A. program. Any additional attempted credits must be paid for, according to the prescribed fee.

Note: Students in the Graduate programs should budget for up to $500 for fieldtrip fees and onsite visits during the two semesters of coursework.

The details above cover the main tuition and fee expenses for attendance at The American University of Rome. Some courses or programs attract peripheral expenses, e.g. laboratory fees or site visit fees. Details on these fees can be found in the course catalog.

 

When planning your finances for study at AUR, you should also take into account accommodation, everyday living expenses, travel, etc.

 Estimated Living Costs for 15-month Master's programs Amount
Estimated living costs are just that, estimated. Actual amounts will vary.  
Estimated living costs for the entire program     $34,000
This estimation includes $15,000 for accommodation in Rome and $6,000 for travel.

 


 

Currencies

  • The American University of Rome offers tuition in both Euro and Dollars.
  • If you are a U.S. citizen, permanent U.S. resident or a Canadian citizen you must make your payment in U.S. dollars.
  • For all other citizenships please make payments in Euros.
  • If you are a dual national (U.S./Canadian plus other) you may choose between Euros or Dollars.
  • Please note that whichever currency you make your first payment in, you are obligated to continue with that currency for your entire duration at AUR.
