Lisa's teaching interests include courses in Modernism, Satire and the Comic Form, the Literature of the Grand Tour, Literary Responses to War, as well as surveys of Anglo-American literature. Her writing courses draw on her background in composition theory and an interest in the art of the popular essay, which includes such topics as food, travel, and culture.

Professor Daniel Roy Connelly, PhD
Adjunct Professor. A former British diplomat, Daniel Roy Connelly is a theatre director, actor, writer and academic. He has acted in and directed theatre in America, the UK, Italy and China, where his 2009 production of David Henry Hwang’s M Butterfly was forced to close by the Chinese secret police. His poetry is widely published in print and online.

Professor Alex Liberto was educated in Malta, London and Rome, where he has held senior positions within International Academic Institutions and Universities, and with the international media. Professor Liberto has been teaching at AUR for almost 30 years, creating new courses and writing various new syllabi with regards to poetry and literature. He has also written, directed and presented various theatrical productions performed over several years.

A former US diplomat and international trade officer, she spent 17+ years in government and the private sector in diplomacy, international trade, marketing communications, corporate expansion and partnerships in the US, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Ecuador and China. She is Head of Marketing & Corporate Partnerships for the geopolitical think tank Eastwest European Institute. She earned a Barchelor’s in Mass Communications from Boston University, an MBA in International Business and an MA in International Affairs from The George Washington University.

Professor Andrea Pacor, PhD
Professor. Professor Pacor's research interests focus on modern and contemporary American literature and culture. He is interested in the intersection between subjectivity, national identity, and life-writing. His research explores how individuals frame their own subjectivity in relation to sovereign power, organized in a global system of nation states. In his work on the Japanese American Internment during World War II, he explores how political rejection/banishment affects the banished individual’s sense of self, and how its recovery depends on restoring allegiance with a state-structure willing to engage in a reciprocal relation.

Professor Sarah Wetzel, M.F.A.
Adjunct Professor. Sarah Wetzel is the author of River Electric with Light, which was winner of the AROHO Poetry Publication Prize and published by Red Hen Press in 2015. She is also the author Bathsheba Transatlantic, which won the Philip Levine Prize for Poetry and was published in November 2010 by Anhinga Press. She is currently completing a manuscript of poetry dealing with Rome and with the life and works of Pier Paolo Pasolini.
